Pagsanjan, Laguna and Morong, Rizal

We have been invited by my sister's friend, Joyce for an overnight stay in Pagsanjan, Laguna. We were to take the Rizal route going to Pagsanjan to avoid the traffic in the South Super Highway so we decided to visit our lolas in Morong, Rizal on our way to Laguna. We left early before our scheduled meet up with Joyce and family so that we could spend a few minutes with our lolas. It's been years since the last time I came to visit them because I was busy with work and studies. I also took the chance to have my picture taken at Martinez St that was named after my lolo, Atty Ruperto Martinez, who was a former Governor of Rizal wayback in 1920s.






In Pagsanjan, we went to a few churches for the Bisita Iglesia. Right after, we went to their farm and roamed around to get a feel of a real farm (FYI, I'm a virtual farm addict, hehe!) We saw geese, rabbits, fish pond, and fruit bearing trees like ponkan and bayabas.

We also went to Step-rite, a well known shoe store in Pagsanjan:) I was able to buy two sandals for only P185, hehe!



Before we left this morning, we took several pics again. This time in the family house's terrace overlooking Pagsanjan lake. Nice!





I was glad that my sister brought us with them. The family was hospitable and very accomodating, we really had a great time:)

Boracay Adventure

Boracay is still beautiful but has changed a lot since the last time I went there in 2007 (take note 2 year difference lang). Personally, I felt sad that many commercial establishments were added and still many being put up considering that it's just a small place. Don't get me wrong, I know that the people of Boracay know better, I'm just worried that Boracay won't be able maintain its beauty for the next 10 or 20 years. Mind you, I still want my nieces and nephews, even my future children and grandchildren to get the chance to enjoy the place :)

Anyhow, I took the time to appreciate Boracay. I intend to enjoy every minute of it as I don't have plans of coming back in the immediate future. I swam a lot and took pictures everywhere:)



I got to see the fire dance, galing nila.




Dami foreigners, especially Koreans. One thing I noticed about Korean couples is that they see to it that they wear something similar like shorts, hats, towels, etc.




I enjoyed very much (Kahit may mga tampuhan portion on the side sa mga kasama ko...sad!) and I'm proud of my sunburnt skin hehe! Sarap talaga mag-beach:)

I plan to go to Palawan on October but if my "always-tight-budget" won't allow me to go that far, kahit Baguio na lang pwede na (di pa ko nakapunta dun, napadaan lang dati half day pa hehe!) I'm excited!

Boracay Adventure

Boracay is still beautiful but has changed a lot since the last time I went there in 2007 (take note 2 year difference lang). Puerto Galera

I've decided to make my year 2009 as exciting and worthwhile as possible. As early as January 03, while I was deeply addicted to the novel twilight and its sequels, I went to Puerto Galera in Mindoro with my friend for an overnight stay. Puerto Galera would be my 1st back-pack adventure for the year 2009 :)

My trip to Puerto Galera was not thoroughly planned because me and my friend, Bel originally planned to go abroad for a brief vacation. It didn't push through so instead, we decided to go to Puerto Galera since we both haven't been there anyway.

The 1-hour boat trip from the Batangas port to Puerto wasn't bad coz we spent the time chatting and watching the waves. When we got there, I got kind of disappointed coz the place was not what I was expecting to see. The distance between the shore and the commercial area like restos etc was small. I kind of would have liked a wider space where you could sunbathe and just hang around without feeling claustrophobic.

Good thing we found a nice place to stay with a fairly reasonable price. We rested for a while and started to go around the place. We had our super late lunch and had a few (daw!) drinks and chatted all night! The following day, we went island hopping and snorkeling in the coral garden where we had a really nice time.

I must say that every place in the Philippines has its own beauty. Of course you can't compare Boracay with Puerto Galera because they are really not the same (but I did anyway, hehe!). I also noticed that Puerto has one of the best diving spots in the Philippines that's why a lot of foreigners visit the place. The truth is, the place was dominated by foreigners themselves.

I feel happy that I was able to visit the place and consider it as my first back-pack adventure for the year 2009.







My second back-pack adventure would be on April in Boracay. Unless I get invited for another back-pack adventure this Feb or March! Ciao!

The Last Song Syndrome

Was there ever a time in your life when you can't help but sing all day the very first song you hear in the morning? they call it the last song syndrome. It's funny when it happens to you, and it feels horrible when it's the song you hate the most! Talking about chaka songs, hehe! You keep on humming the melody or sing parts of it because you can't help it, you just can't get it off your mind. It just comes out oh so naturally, hehehe!
